The first official images of the new BMW 4 Series cabriolet have been released, ahead of the model’s debut at the Los Angeles Motor Show in November.

The 4 Series Convertible will go on sale in the UK next March, and will replace the current 3 Series Convertible in the BMW line-up. It will be larger in size than the 3 Series and feature a new hard-top roof design.

From launch, buyers will be able to choose between two petrol engines – a 2.0-litre unit and 3.0-litre turbocharged offering – and one 2.0-litre diesel engine.

Even entry-level models come equipped with dual-zone air-conditioning, front and rear parking sensors and cruise control. They also come with BMW’s ‘Air Breathers and Air Curtains’ which are designed to reduce turbulence and aerodynamic drag around the front wheels, maximising efficiency.

Prices for the BMW 4 Series Convertible will start from £35,650, with the range-topping model costing £44,970. The entry-level Convertible costs £4,075 more than the coupe. Full pricing and performance details for the 4 Series Coupe can be found at CarSite.co.uk.
